How EasyExtract Processes Files

Last updated: 1 August 2026

EasyExtract's free online data extraction tools process every file you open entirely inside your browser. Your file bytes are loaded into your device's memory and parsed by JavaScript running in your browser tab — they are never transmitted to any EasyExtract server. You can verify this yourself: open Developer Tools (F12 → Network tab), run any tool, and confirm no upload request is made.

Scope of this document

This page covers how EasyExtract handles the files you open and the text you paste, what network requests the site makes, which third parties may receive data, and how to report a security concern. It applies to all browser-based tools on easyextract.online.

What happens in the browser

When you drop a file onto an EasyExtract tool or click the file-picker, the browser's FileReader or ArrayBuffer API reads the file from your disk into RAM. The tool's JavaScript library — served from EasyExtract's own domain — then parses that in-memory data to extract the values you requested (text, tables, metadata, images, and so on).

The process is entirely local:

This architecture means EasyExtract cannot access your files even if it wanted to. There is no server endpoint that accepts file data.

What data may be received by EasyExtract's server

EasyExtract's server handles only ordinary HTTP requests — the same kind any website makes when delivering a page:

Request type What the server receives What it does not receive
Page load (HTML) Your IP address, URL path, browser user-agent, HTTP referrer Any file data, pasted text, or extraction output
Asset requests (JS, CSS, images) Your IP address, asset URL, cache headers Any file data, pasted text, or extraction output
Tool use (extraction) Nothing — no network request is made during extraction Not applicable

Server access logs contain IP address, HTTP method, URL path, response code, approximate bytes transferred (HTML/CSS/JS assets only), browser user-agent, and timestamp. Logs are retained for up to 30 days by the hosting provider's automatic log-rotation policy. EasyExtract does not archive, export, or sell these logs.

Third-party code and network requests

The following third-party resources load on EasyExtract pages. Each makes its own network request and is governed by that provider's privacy policy. None of them receive your file contents.

Third party What it may receive Purpose
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) Your IP address, browser type, referring page URL Serves the Bricolage Grotesque typeface
Google AdSense Your IP address, device and browser signals, ad-interaction events Serves and measures advertisements that keep the tools free
EasyExtract (self-hosted scripts) Standard HTTP asset request (IP, URL, user-agent) Delivers nav.js, tool scripts, and style.css; no file data transmitted

EasyExtract does not load any analytics platform, session-recording script, or fingerprinting library. If this changes, this page will be updated before the new script goes live.

Security reporting

If you discover a security vulnerability or privacy issue on EasyExtract, please report it via the contact page. Include a clear description of the issue, steps to reproduce it, and — if applicable — evidence that file data could leave the browser. We aim to acknowledge reports within 5 business days and to publish a fix or correction notice within 30 days of confirmation. There is no bug bounty programme at this time.

Changes to this document

When this page is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. If a new third-party script is introduced, this page will be updated before that script goes live. For material changes, a brief summary of what changed will appear below the date for 30 days.
