EasyExtract Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026
EasyExtract offers free online data extraction tools that run entirely in your browser. Everything this policy states is verifiable: open your browser's Developer Tools (F12 → Network tab) while using any tool and confirm no file data leaves your device.
1. What stays in your browser
All extraction tools on EasyExtract run in JavaScript inside your web browser. When you open a PDF, paste text, drop in an image, or select any other file, that data is loaded into your device's RAM and processed locally. No file content, pasted text, or extraction output is transmitted to any EasyExtract server. The file bytes never leave your device.
Tool scripts (the .js files that power each extractor) are served from EasyExtract's own domain. They receive no file data; they simply execute in your browser's sandbox.
2. Third-party scripts loaded on this site
The following third-party scripts are loaded on EasyExtract pages. Each makes its own network request and is subject to that provider's privacy policy.
| Script | Provider | What the provider may receive |
|---|---|---|
| Google Fonts | Google LLC | Your IP address, browser type, and referring page URL when fonts are fetched from fonts.googleapis.com |
| Google AdSense | Google LLC | Your IP address, device/browser signals, and ad-interaction events used to serve and measure advertisements |
| Google Analytics (gtag.js) | Google LLC | Aggregated, pseudonymous usage metrics and interaction signals (Measurement ID: G-MKHH1NLWKV) |
| nav.js and tool scripts | EasyExtract (self-hosted) | No data transmitted; execute entirely in your browser |
EasyExtract does not load any other analytics or tracking scripts at this time. If this changes, this section will be updated before the new script goes live.
3. Analytics
EasyExtract uses Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-MKHH1NLWKV) to collect aggregated, pseudonymous metrics that help us improve tool reliability and usability. Google Analytics records non-identifying interaction events, specifically:
tool_start: when a file-based tool begins processing locally in your browsertool_success: when extraction output is generated (along with count, where applicable)tool_error: when an extraction fails or is unsupportedcopy_outputanddownload_output: when output is copied to clipboard or saved
Strict privacy boundary: No file names, file contents, pasted text, or extracted outputs are ever sent to Google Analytics. To opt out of Google Analytics measurement across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. Advertising and cookies
EasyExtract displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to keep the tools free. AdSense sets cookies in your browser to serve ads based on your browsing history across sites that use the AdSense network. These cookies persist after you leave this site.
To control personalised ads:
- Visit Google Ads Settings to opt out of personalised advertising.
- Use the NAI opt-out tool.
- Block third-party cookies in your browser's privacy settings.
Cookie retention: Google's advertising cookies are set for up to 13 months. Opting out replaces personalisation cookies with an opt-out cookie for the same period.
EasyExtract itself sets no first-party cookies, session tokens, or localStorage entries for tracking. The only browser storage EasyExtract writes is ephemeral state required for a tool to function (for example, keeping a result in memory while you copy it), and this is cleared when you close or reload the page.
5. Server logs
EasyExtract's hosting provider automatically records standard web-server access logs for security and performance purposes. A typical log entry contains:
- The requesting IP address
- HTTP method, URL path, and response code
- Approximate bytes transferred (page assets, not file content)
- Browser user-agent string
- Date and time of request
What is not in these logs: file contents, pasted text, extraction results, or any parameter values submitted client-side — because file processing happens in the browser and nothing is posted to the server.
Retention: Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted by the hosting provider's log-rotation policy. EasyExtract does not archive, export, or sell these logs.
6. Data processors
| Processor | Role | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Advertising (AdSense) and font delivery (Google Fonts) | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Hosting provider | Server infrastructure and log storage | Provider-specific data processing agreement |
No other third parties receive data generated by your use of this site.
7. Retention summary
| Data type | Held by | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Your files and pasted text | Nobody — stays in your browser only | Not applicable |
| Extraction results | Nobody — displayed in your browser only | Not applicable |
| Server access logs | Hosting provider | ≤ 30 days |
| AdSense cookies | Google LLC | Up to 13 months |
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data-protection law (including GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA) to:
- Access: Request a copy of personal data held about you.
- Erasure: Request deletion of personal data.
- Restrict or object: Limit or object to specific processing activities.
- Opt out of personalised advertising: Use the Google Ads Settings link in section 4 or block third-party cookies in your browser.
- Opt out of sale (CCPA): EasyExtract does not sell personal data. Google's use of data under AdSense is governed by Google's own policy; see section 4 for opt-out options.
Because EasyExtract does not collect or store your files, text, or extraction results, most access and erasure requests will relate only to server log entries (which are automatically purged within 30 days). To submit a request, use the contact page.
9. Children
EasyExtract tools are general-purpose utilities. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the contact form, please notify us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Affiliate links
EasyExtract currently contains no affiliate links. If affiliate links are added in future, each one will be clearly labelled on the page where it appears. Clicking an affiliate link will never cost you anything extra.
11. Changes to this policy
When material changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. A brief summary of what changed will appear below the date for 30 days following any update.
